Plant Health Technician Specialist/Spray Applicator

To assist management in an IPM program that is not only effective but safe within state and company values.

Reports to General Manager

Technical responsibilities:

Report equipment maintenance and breakdowns to shop for repairs.

Apply chemicals in a safe manner

Assist with fertilizer applications

Scout and solve issues within company values.

Assist with irrigation time and needs.

General Duties: 


Assist the company to maintain an OSHA-compliant, safe,  clean, and organized work environment.

Follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Demands:


Able to lift 50lbs.

Walk, stand, and bend at the waist and knees while working.

Use hands, arms, and fingers.

Company prerequisites:

Reliable self-starter who is punctual in reporting to work.

Must be able to set priorities while remaining flexible in day-to-day operations.

Must be able to meet deadlines in a professional manner.

Must have or be able to obtain an Oregon Private Pesticide Application license.

Must have a valid and insurable driver's license.

Communicate in English and Spanish.

Entry Level Spray Technician

To assist other plant health technicians to learn the process of chemical applications on the nursery and other corps.  Assist with light maintenance and be able to jump on other tasks as needed by the season.

Reports to the General Manager

Technical responsibilities:

Report equipment maintenance/breakdown issues to the shop to schedule repairs.

Apply chemicals in a safe manner.

Assist with the fertilization of crops.

General Duties:


Assist the company to maintain an OSHA-compliant, safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Follow written and verbal instructions. 

Work Monday-Friday 7AM TO 5 PM.  Saturday as needed.  Sunday's only in emergency.

Extended hours will be required seasonal.

Physical Demands:

Able to lift 50lbs. 

When lifting more than 50 pounds use your best judgment to safely lift the object (get someone to help or use some other mechanical lifting device.

Use hands, arms, and fingers.

Maintenance Technician

Countryside Nursery has an opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician to support our commercial Nursery. This position is responsible for performing duties both independently and as part of a team. Such as troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of our fleet of tractors, gators, company trucks, and our production and facility equipment. Mechanic/maintenance experience is not required but a plus. We are willing to train the right person.

Reports to the General Manager

Technical Responsibilities:

Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, and equipment. 

Perform skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines. 

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance service. 

Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments. 

Provide emergency /unscheduled site repairs 

Maintain and repair diesel engines, Small engines, Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC systems 

Use a variety of hand and power tools · Comply with safety regulations and procedures 

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Physical Demands:

Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. 

Ability to lift to 80 pounds 

Company prerequisites:

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Able to work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions, including cold, wet, and/or humid conditions, and heat.

Willingness to learn about machine maintenance.

Strong mechanical aptitude. · US work authorization.

Part-Time Entry Level Maintenance Technician

Provides daily assistance of maintenance (under the supervision of the maintenance manager) on our production and operations equipment, troubleshooting, repair, and installation. This is a physical role in which you will be working outdoors year-round.

Recommend alternatives and/or solutions for unavailable inventory, as well as offer products and services that may benefit the customer.

Contribute to the overall product strategy including life cycle management.

Analyze market potential and communicate competitor market data.

Develop a good working relationship with production and propagation teams.

Contribute to the improvement of the distributor supply model.

Develop and maintain strong value-add relationships with customers, sales administrative staff, and other internal resources.

Implement selling initiatives that focus on delivering desired financial results.

Support and implement strategic corporate brand marketing offerings.

Actively participate in trade shows, conventions, customer visits, etc.

Respond to phone calls and e-mails in a timely fashion.

 Learn the industry and help us maintain and expand our marketplace position.
