Very popular dwarf selection for bonsai culture or rock gardens. Tiny leaves are the smallest of any Japanese Maple. Growth habit is similar to the well known "Shishigashira" with tight clumps of leaves at the branch tips. Major difference is the intense pink-orange new growth each spring.

Kotohime means "Little Harp" in Japanese. The foliage is a pleasing blue-green in contrast to other dwarf varieties with more grass green foliage.
