Newer cultivar considered by most to be an "improved bloodgood." Deep purple-red foliage is darker than other forms and holds its color even in the hottest climates. Medium grower and graceful habit, it will eventually make a small shade tree with age. Site in full sun for best red color. Fall color is scarlet to crimson red. This cultivar is slower to leaf out in spring making it a great choice for colder climates where late spring frosts are a issue. We find it leafs out 2 weeks after 'Bloodgood' here at the nursery.
