Light reddish purple blooms produced in abundance in mid spring. Shorter, wide-spreading, compact habit fits easily into most landscapes. For full sun situations with sandy or well-drained soils. Plants are deciduous but the stems remain rich green through winter giving an "evergreen" effect.

Flowers are sterile and will not reseed or become invasive like its bad cousin Scotch Broom.
