Magnolia hybrid 'Betty'

Betty Hybrid Magnolia

Sister seedling of 'Ann' producing the same huge display of 6" purple-red flowers every spring. More pyramidal and dense than it's sister. Flowers open in late March here in Oregon and continue for 6 weeks. Can be pruned as a shrub or trained into a small tree.

This is a cross of M. liliflora 'Nigra' and M. stellata 'Rosea'. The tree often reflowers later in the summer due to it's M. liliflora roots.
