Dwarf form with unusually dense congested foliage all growing at the branch tips. Individual leaves are tiny and curled giving the entire tree a crinkly look. Plants grow very slowly changing from shrubs to small trees. Spring-summer foliage is bright green, turning bright orange in fall. Great choice for Bonsai or containers. Most often refered to as the 'Lion's Head' maple.
